My bare feet tiptoed through the sand.
A crowded beach,
I rushed to the water, bottle in my hand.
My ego bruised,
Her samurai tongue put me in my place.
Worn and used,
You could see it all over my face.
As I reached the wet sand,
My feet kissed by the tide.
As my insides began to disband,
By the hand of all her lies.
No matter how explained,
They can’t be taken back.
I have to treat them like grains in the waves,
Washed away- to the bottom, cold and black.
