The full moon took over the sky,
The lake was calm, covered in glass.
Stars overwhelmed by the lunar eye,
I’m seated at the dock, hoping time will slowly pass.
Wishing I could stick my thumb in the sands and stop the flow,
Wishing I could press pause on the universe and stop it’s rust.
Moments like these are all my soul cares to know,
Times like this are all my heart cares to trust.
The still night is a gift from up above,
You must cherish it and hold it close.
Before your last breath, and heaven extends it’s love,
You remember the serenity of these moments the most.
