Barely able to breathe,
The weight of days on our chests.
With the world on our shoulders,
Crumbling under the stress.
It’s hard to feel as blessed as we are,
When we have to move so fast.
The simple pleasures in life,
Swallowed up as time has passed.
We wonder if we can last,
That question seems to come up more.
When we have time to love each other,
It doesn’t feel like it did before.
You’re colder, I’m colder,
But there isn’t a scarf for our hearts.
We feel trapped, not knowing,
Watching helplessly as we fall apart.
